It wasn't exactly a guarantee, like Joe Namath or Mark Messier, but Canucks forward Daniel Sedin was quick to provide a headline following Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final last night at TD Garden.

"We're going to win Game 7," he told the Vancouver Sun's Brad Ziemer after the Canucks lost to the Bruins 5-2.

What else is he going to say? After all, the victory parade plans have been in place in Vancouver for some time now.

Perhaps Sedin's motive is to take attention off his goalie, Roberto Luongo, who found himself in the spotlight for his comments following Game 5. The scrutiny intensified when Luongo turned in a dud performance in Game 6. Remember when Boston's Mark Recchi deflected the attention from teammate Zdeno Chara after Chara's hit on Montreal's Max Pacioretty in March? Veteran move.

The bulletin-board quote is not part of the NHL.com video embedded above, but the clip does have other comments by Sedin that express his confidence.
