WILMINGTON – Ex-Canadien Benoit Pouliot has already spoken to David Krejci regarding the one-punch flattening he delivered to the center while wearing the enemy jersey last year.

As such things usually go, the matter was promptly resolved.

“I talked to him earlier,” Pouliot said. “It’s business. I’m on the team now. Things like that happen. When I was in Montreal, guys who had gotten in fights before were best friends. I’m not looking to come down here and screw up everything that’s going on around here. I’m looking to try and find a spot and get along with the guys as much as I can.”

Pouliot, who participated in a captain’s practice today at Ristuccia Arena, has his sights set on a third-line role, most likely on the left side of Chris Kelly. Pouliot referenced his size, speed, and shot as his best assets.

* Brad Marchand remains unsigned, but an agreement isn’t far off. Most recently, the sides have been discussing a three-year extension. Earlier talks had been about a two-year deal.

* Twenty-nine players skated today. That number will go down significantly tomorrow, as players prepare for physicals and fitness testing on Friday.

* The rookies, coming off a pair of exhibition games against the Islanders, are going through off-ice workouts today. The rookies will skate tomorrow at 10 a.m.
