Zdeno Chara has been diagnosed with a bruise on the inside of his left leg. Chara was hit by a puck near his left knee during today’s scrimmage at TD Garden. Chara left the scrimmage early and didn’t return.

“If he needs an extra day, we’ll give him an extra day,” Claude Julien said. “If he’s OK tomorrow, then he’ll go. We’ll see. Just a day-by-day bruise -- a shot inside the leg.”

* Tyler Seguin skated in the middle for the third straight day. Seguin centered Kyle MacKinnon and Nathan Horton. Seguin used his speed and shot, but also continued to demonstrate some jam in the corners and in front of the net. “His skill level is really showing because the way he’s competing with that confidence,” Julien said.

* Dougie Hamilton was among the smoothest backward skaters during one-on-one drills. Hamilton’s skating is his best asset.

* The Bruins will have off-ice workouts tomorrow at the Garden. They will participate in a Black and White scrimmage in Providence tomorrow night.
