WILMINGTON -- The Bruins are back on the ice today after a day off, and all hands are on deck, including Providence call-up Jordan Caron and Adam McQuaid, not in game action since exiting the lineup with a rattled head Oct. 12 in Raleigh.

Lines today:

Lucic-Kelly-Seguin
Marchand-Bergeron-Peverley
Pouliot/Caron-Krejci-Horton
Paille-Campbell-Thornton

Update: 12:10 pm . -- Bruins have concluded workout, wrapping up with center-ice stretch. Slightly longer workday than usual.

The scrambling Habs, surrounded by rumors that coach Jacques Martin will be canned amid his club's abysmal 1-5-2 start, are on Causeway Street Thursday night. The Bruins take on the Habs again Saturday night at the Bell Center.

During a media conference call Tuesday eve, GM Peter Chiarelli said he thought backup 'tender Tuukka Rask would have had another start or two by this point of the season. Through eight games, Tim Thomas has been between the pipes for six starts, and Rask has started only tiwce.

Chiarelli also acknowledged the club's slow start (3-5-0) as a hangover and the difficulty to create competition for jobs on a team that is the defending Cup champion.

''I have to get over that,'' said Chiarelli, noting that he thus far has been reluctant to make AHL callups or have veterans moved out of the lineup.

The Bruins got on the ice at 11:00 this morn, a half-hour later than expected. After a day off, they likely were treated to video review of some of their boo-boos over the first eight games.
