CHICAGO -- Greetings from the United Center, where Michael Jordan's statue greets visitors to the front door. With the NBA in suspended animation, much like the bronzed, soaring Jordan, the only show in town right now--other than ''Waiting on Theo''--is tonight's Bruins-Blackhawks matchup, bringing together the two most recent Stanley Cup champs.
Top Bruins pivot David Krejci will not play for a second straight game, sidelined by core injury. Adam McQuaid, suspected to have suffered a concussion in Wednesday night's loss in Raleigh, has been scratched for tonight, allowing rookie blueliner Matt Bartkowski to slot in on the third pairing. The Bruins hope blueliner Steve Kampfer will begin to skate with the club sometime next week.

Storylines: The Hawks will have ex-Boston blueliner Sean uh-O'Donnell working their backline. O'Donnell turned 40 this week and his new teammates treated the old man to a number of jokes--including leaving a walker at his locker....The two clubs both need to get their power plays going. The Hawks have two PPGs so far, and the Bruins only one...Tim Thomas should get the start tonight, likely opposed by the Hawks' Corey Crawford, who took over the No. 1 role here last season with the departure of Antti Niemi and the tepid performance of Marty Turco...The Bruins need to see some pop for their two top wingers, Milan Lucic and Nathan Horton, who are a combined 0-2--2 with only 13 shots through four games. They've arrived dead on doublerunners for the new season...Hawks defenseman Duncan Keith leads Chicago in average TOI with 24:56. Boston's Dennis Seidenberg (24:14) and Zdeno Chara (24:07) top the clock for the Bruins...Dan Carcillo will be in the Hawks lineup for his second game this season. He sat out the first two, his supsension for verbal abuse of officials in his final game with the Flyers, which was Game 4 of the Boston-Philly series. Carcillo pulled a nutty outside the officials' room at the Garden, was handed his supension soon after the series ended that night, and left Broad Street as an unrestriced free agent over the summer....Marian Hossa did not participate in the Hawks' morning workout and could be scratched this eve.
