Bruins rub out Hawks, 3-2, on strength of Tyler Seguin's goal in shootout. Rally from 1-0 and 2-1 deficit.

strong>SHOOTOUT.
Toews -- No goal.
Seguin -- Goal. Forehand through 5-hole.
Kane -- No goal.
Bergeron -- No goal.
Sharp -- No goal.

OVERTIME
Neither club scores in the 5:00 session. Headed to Shootout.

Two great opportunies by Peverley, with 2:52 to go and 2:34 to go. Walks in alone for second chance, misfires with doorstep backhander.

THIRD PERIOD

Regulation over. Tied, 2-2. Headed to OT.

Big Seidenberg slapper hits post with 52 seconds to go.

Hawks power play negated when Sharp caught for holding Boychuk's stick at 17:33.

Pouliot off for high-sticing Seabrook at 16:25.

4:24 to go, look destined for OT.

7:56 -- Bruins tie, 2-2. Horton snaps in equalizer from left wing circle after Boychuk follows own dump into zone, beats Duncan behind the net and dishes out to Horton from behind the goal line. Pretty play by Boychuk.

Thomas with stop on Stalberg. Hawks still up, 2-1, with 5:30 gone. Nothing at even strength or on power play for Bruins.

With only 9 seconds gone, Bergeron whistled off for boarding Frolik. Chicago PP.

SECOND PERIOD

Period over. Hawks still with 2-1 lead.

Again, B's come up empty on PP. Near shorthanded strike for Hawks.

Bruins get another crack at power play when Frolik boards Kelly at 14:29.

Near costly cough up by Bartkowski behind his own goal line near 12:15 mark. Bruins fortunate Hawks don't cash it in for 3-1 lead.

Some of the game's jump has subsided. Halfway through period, Hawks still with one-goal lead.

2:51 -- Hawks, 2-1. Kane snaps in high shot from LW faceoff dot, off short feed from Sharp. Ex-Bruins Sean uh-O'Donnell with second assist. Only 1:18 after B's even score.

1:33 -- Bruins tie, 1-1. Kelly finishes off shorthanded strike from inner edge of LW circle after Peverley lugs puck up right wing on 2-on-1 break vs. Keith.

0:24 -- Horton's out-of-touch odyssey continues. Sent off for GT interference.

FIRST PERIOD

First 20:00 in the books. Hawks keep the 1-0 led. Tied in shots, 13-13. Good pace for period. Julien is going to have to find a way to put some Perrier in the pants of wingers Lucic and Horton.

Lucic with two shots and one hit in first period. Horton zero in both categories.

16:21 -- Hawks, 1-0. Bickell walks in from blue line after picking off Ference pass and snaps 12-foot wrister by Thomas.

Pretty Kane spin-o-rama in LW FO circle at 14:24. Thomas alert, makes stop on Kane's backhand offering. Shots, 10-10. A pleasure to write spin-o-rama.

Seguin gets extra duty, slots between Paille and Thornton while Campbell cools heels in penalty box. Bergeron subs for Seguin on No. 1 line with the lethargic Lucic, Horton.

Bruins land three shots in first minute of PP. Better. Quicker.

9:17 -- Stalberg to box for tripping. B's on PP.

7:48 -- Campbell and Mayers mix it up with fisticuffs in Chicago end. Five minutes each.

Boychuk takes short-range slapper off right knee. Grimace, limps on way to bench.

With only 6:56 gone, Hawks with 7-2 shot lead. Team in blood red sweaters carrying play.

Julien opens by giving his top two lines two shifts apiece. Radical departure for a guy who loves to roll four lines.

Just about to get underway here at the United Center.

Tim Thomas led the Bruins out of the dressing room for warmups, and he will get the call tonight to make his fourth start of the season. Last season's Vezina winner is 1-2-0 with a 2.03 GAA and .933 save pct.

Lots of Bruins Black and Gold sweaters in the crowd. The Hub of Hockey is not just a place, but a mindset, a being.
