Zach Hamill, recalled on an emergency basis from Providence yesterday, could appear tonight against Edmonton. Rich Peverley (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision. If Peverley can’t play, Hamill will be the right wing on the third line with Jordan Caron and Chris Kelly.

Peverley participated in the morning skate and took line rushes with Caron and Kelly. However, Peverley didn't take part in power-play drills.

This year, under first-year Providence coach Bruce Cassidy, the natural center has been mostly on the right side. Hamill has skated with Lane MacDermid and Carter Camper.

“The first couple games, it was a little different,” Hamill said of switching from center to wing. “I worked on some things and watch NHL games to watch how smaller guys play right wing. It’s been pretty good. Ever since the first couple games, I’ve been used in that role.”

Hamill has five goals and five assists in 14 games.

* Daniel Paille (nose) will not play tonight. Claude Julien said Paille is feeling better today. No word on whether Paille will be available on Saturday.
