OTTAWA – The Bruins have been given the day off. Only Zdeno Chara (knee) and Jordan Caron (healthy scratch) are skating this afternoon at the Canadian International Hockey Academy in Rockland, Ontario. The Bruins will practice at CIH Academy tomorrow at 11 a.m. prior to their departure for Philadelphia.

“Today’s a good day to make sure you rest,” said Patrice Bergeron. “You get to bottle up your energy. Tomorrow’s going to be a huge practice for us to get ready for Philly. It’s going to be a big game. If you look at the standings, we know it’s tight there. It’s going to be tough.”

The Bruins and Flyers each have 41 points. Philadelphia plays at Montreal tonight.

If the Bruins want to give the Flyers a game on Saturday, they’ll have to be better in the neutral zone. Without Tim Thomas last night and Tuukka Rask the night before, the Bruins could have been dealt a pair of losses.

“Both games, we were bailed out by our goalies,” Brad Marchand said. “We wouldn’t have won without them. It seems like we got away from our game a bit. We weren’t tight defensively. We were letting teams walk through.”
