Bruins bring up Bodnarchuk
Defenseman Andrew Bodnarchuk has been recalled from Providence and is expected to be on the ice today when the Bruins begin practice in a few minutes at TD Garden.
Bodnarchuk, drafted in the fifth round by the club in 2006 (128th overall), has appeared in five games with the Bruins, all coming in the 2009-10 season. The 23-year-old is 5 feet 11 inches and 190 pounds.
In 47 games with the Providence Bruins this season, Bodnarchuk has four goals, seven assists, and 30 penalty minutes. He had one goal and 15 assists last season with Providence; his 16 points were third-best in the AHL.
