Storylines: Tim Gleason is off the market. The Carolina alternate captain signed a four-year extension earlier this week. Gleason, who would have hit UFA status after this season, would have been a good candidate for the Bruins to acquire prior to the Feb. 27 deadline… The Hurricanes won their last game against the Bruins at the RBC Center, 4-2… Tuomo Ruutu remains on the block. Ruutu would add to the team’s bottom-six depth… Eric Furlatt and Brian Pochmara will be the referees. Andy McElman and Pierre Racicot will be the linesmen.
