Tuukka Rask was the first goalie to depart this morning’s optional skate, indicating he will start tonight against the Sabres. Rask was pulled in his last appearance against Buffalo, a 6-0 Boston loss.

Tim Thomas has started five of the last six games. Thomas is almost certain to start tomorrow against Ottawa.

Shawn Thornton should be in the lineup. Thornton skated this morning. Thornton didn’t practice yesterday because he was sick.

* Buffalo will be without ex-Bruin Brad Boyes. Corey Tropp will replace Boyes.
