Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid will not play against the Islanders or the Rangers this weekend. McQuaid suffered a cut above his left eye in the first period of Thursday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Capitals.

McQuaid’s eye has closed, according to coach Claude Julien. McQuaid has not been diagnosed with a concussion.

Dennis Seidenberg will travel to Long Island this afternoon. Seidenberg is day-to-day because of an infected cut above his left knee. Seidenberg missed his first game of the season Thursday. Seidenberg required an IV after Tuesday’s 5-2 win over Tampa Bay. The defenseman remains on antibiotics, but is likely to see action this weekend.

* The Bruins can clinch a playoff spot tonight if Buffalo loses to Pittsburgh in regulation.
