After scoring four wins over Toronto this season with Ron Wilson at the helm, the Bruins will get their first look at Randy Carlyle behind the Maple Leafs bench.

“I know Randy pretty well,” Claude Julien said. “We’re good friends. I certainly know his style very well.”

Carlyle termed Toronto’s record against the Bruins this year as “embarrassing.”

* Shawn Thornton, a good friend of injured goalie Tuukka Rask, has been texting his teammate. “He’s a little bummed, but he’ll be back at the end of this month, hopefully,” Thornton said. “That’s a positive.” Rask has been diagnosed with a lower abdomen/groin strain. Rask will miss at least a month, putting the rest of his regular season in danger.

“It’s unfortunate for Tuukka,” Julien said. “He’s had a good year. We were really counting on him to help us down the stretch with the number of games that we have coming up. It’s an unfortunate injury at a real bad time of year. We hope to have [Marty] Turco with us by tomorrow. It will give us that experience and the type of backup goaltender we need to keep moving forward here down the stretch.”

* Jonas Gustavsson will be in goal for the Leafs. Tim Thomas will get the start for the Bruins. No lineup changes are expected for the Bruins.

* Andrew Ference (lower body) and Daniel Paille (upper body) were scheduled to resume skating on their own today back in Boston.
