20:00 3rd period: Islanders, 3-2 Claude Julien opted for the extra man with more than a minute left to play and the B's made it rain on Nabokov, but, as he'd done all afternoon, the goalie stood tall. Chara had open room for a heavy slap shot from the point, but his stick snapped on impact and the puck stumbled toward the net. Milan Lucic had a look with Nabokov flat on the ice, but Lucic couldn't convert. The Bruins now travel to New York this evening with a matchup against the Rangers looming for Sunday afternoon at 12:35 ET. There's still no word on Rask's injury, so Thomas will likely have to make it two in row between the pipes.

15:05 3rd period: Islanders, 3-2
The Bruins thought they touched the puck in the Islanders zone for icing and stopped skating. Matt Moulson didn't. He carried the puck into the B's zone and fired a slapper that was tipped by Tavares before finding the back of the net.

9:01 3rd period: 2-2
They say Tyler Seguin can skate pretty fast... Well, that's why. Chara bounced a pass off the wall and Seguin just turned on the jets, skating in alone and throwing a backhand deke on Nabokov before flipping the puck top-shelf. We're all tied up here and the Bruins have another power play.

3:30 3rd period: Islanders, 2-1
Another strong power play for the Bruins, but no goal. A lot of movement seems to be creating holes in the New York defense and producing solid scoring chances. Now the Bruins just need to convert.

1:42 3rd period: Islanders, 2-1
Chris Kelly made a great individual play to gain possession in the neutral zone and then found Benoit Pouliot streaking toward the net all alone. Pouliot tried bringing the puck to his backhand, but lost control and couldn't get a shot off. Milan Jurcina was sent to the box for slashing on the play.

20:00 2nd period: Islanders, 2-1
For the third straight home game, the Bruins are trailing entering the third. They haven't had a lead entering the final period in 19 of the last 23 games, so this is nothing new. The B's have made comeback wins in the third period seven times this season.

11:35 2nd period: Islanders, 2-1
Adam McQuaid takes a questionable penalty behind his own net and the Islanders convert on a cold goalie. Nielsen started the play with a pass into the slot that was deflected by Dennis Seidenberg but trickled through to John Tavares. Tavares poked it over to Matt Moulson who jammed home his 28th goal of the season.

12:05 2nd period: 1-1

Bruins power play looking explosive today. Zdeno Chara rips one of those signature slappers from the point that pings off the post so loud customers at Pizzeria Regina could've heard it across the street. Plenty of chances with the extra man, but no net.

10:33 2nd period: 1-1
Thornton gets held up in the offensive zone by Kyle Okposo and then falls to the ice. A fair sell-job by Thornton and now the B's have another power play.

Rask leaves with injury
9:01 2nd period: 1-1
We have a goalie change on Causeway Street. After Matt Martin ripped a shot from the right circle, Rask made a quick move to his left and then fell to the ice, threw off his glove and waved the training staff over. There's been no word yet on the injury, but Rask was replaced by Tim Thomas to a very, very loud eruption of cheer at the Garden.

0:35 2nd period: 1-1
Nabokov makes two more big saves, stumping David Krejci twice in front of the net before denying Rolston of his first Bruins' goal since 2004.

20:00 1st period: 1-1
Unfortunate tail end of the period for the home team, but the B's controlled most of the play, guided by a strong forecheck. Brad Marchand hung around after the horn sounded to make his case with the officiating crew. Marchand appeared to catch a stick in the face down in the Islanders' zone, but no penalty was called.

17:36 1st period: 1-1

Frans Nielsen skated past a pair of Bruins defenders on the right side and swung a pass through to Bailey, who was waiting on the far post and tapped in the game-tying goal.

15:10 1st period: Bruins, 1-0
The Bruins finally convert on a power play chance, the first time in three games. Joe Corvo started it off from the point, finding Brian Rolston in the slot. Rolston made a touch-pass to Milan Lucic who buried one top-shelf.

14:20 1st period: 0-0
Shawn Thornton took a hit from Travis Hamonic near New York's bench and didn't like it. Thornton tried scrapping but it was quickly broken up by the referee and 22 was sent to the box for roughing. Josh Bailey took a slashing penalty though, ending the Islanders' power play.

11:10 1st period: 0-0
You can tell why Parenteau has been all over the stat sheet lately - he's been the most involved Islander and nearly put away a self-created scoring chance, but the shot went wide.

9:25 1st period: 0-0
Islanders get their first real chance when Josh Bailey's centering pass slipped through the defense and pinged off the post. Rask had it covered.

8:00 1st period: 0-0
Jordan Caron's slashing penalty was quickly negated by a duplicate from N.Y.'s P.A. Parenteau. Bruins get 30 seconds of 5-on-4 and create a few scoring chances, but Nabokov solid so far.

2:58 1st period: 0-0
Brad Marchand intercepts a pass in the Islanders' zone and rips a hard wrister from the slot, but Nabokov’s glove was all over it.

0:00 1st period: 0-0
Tuukka Rask in net for the B's, making his first start since Feb. 24, when he made 26 saves against the Sabres in an eventual 2-1 shootout loss.

Nice moment pregame in honor of Matt Brown, the former Norwood High hockey player who was injured two winters ago and left paralyzed from the neck down. Brown, now in a wheelchair that allows him to stand up, made the ceremonial puck drop.
