THIRD PERIOD

All done and then some. Panthers, 6-2. Bruins Friday night could drop to seventh in East if Senators win. Seems no way out of this.

17:24 -- Panthers, 6-2. Wolski with one more for good measure.

4:00 to go. Just a matter of bookkeeping now.

As one poster just stated, ''There is not bottom to this barrel.''

Third game in a row that Bruins have given up five goals or more.

]7:51 -- Panthers, 5-2. Kopecky, unassisted. Kelly attempt to pass behind own net, ticks off McQuaid's boot and goes to Kopecky at right post for gimme putt.

1:44 -- Panthers, 4-2. Rolston's first goal on Bruin, off one-time slapper during power play, puts Bruins within striking distance.

Underway.

SECOND PERIOD

All over now but the flight home. Panthers by three goals at end of 40:00. For 25th time in last 30 games, Bruins without lead into third period.

Beatdown time has arrived.

15:27 -- Panthers, 4-1. Madden knocks one in from top of crease. Boston backliners allowing easy pickings around net.

Eighth time in nine games the Bruins have allowed three goals or more. One way to avoid shootouts.

6:32 -- Panthers, 3-1. Weiss pots lost puck after Fleischman shot from right wing circle. Corvo and Wolski jam at right post as shot comes in, and Weiss picks up the trash.

4:53 -- Panthers, 2-1. Corvo wrister from above left wing circle cuts FLA lead in half. Bleeding stopped. Maybe.

Two-goal lead has the Panthers very confident with puck, moving it quickly.

0:38 -- Panthers, 2-0. Campbell wrister from blue line tipped in from slot. Plays goes under review, but Goc's stick was not raised above crossbar. Bruins once again in 2-0 hole.

Underway.

FIRST PERIOD

First period a wrap. Bruins down, 1-0. Better period than most of late, but still not looking good on scoreboard.

17:57 -- Panthers, 1-0. Samuelsson with assist by Campell and Weiss. Power play goal. Seventh straight game Bruins go behind, 0-1.

Another FLA PP at 16:58, Thornton off for cross-check. Bruins lucky not to be called for Campbell elbow to Weaver's kisser.

With 4:12 to go, Thomas blocks sizzling wrister by Bergenheim.

Decent chance by Caron at 15:07, but Theodore hangs on to wrister. Bruins wtih 6-3 shot edge. Had only two shots in first period on Tuesday.

Bergeron skating well. No obvious side effects after getting drilled Tuesday night by Boychuk slapper.

Will be interesting to see if big hit wakes up Marchand. His game has been dormant the last 2-3 weeks.

9:50 -- Referees even it up, call Theodore for delay of game Four-on-four play.

9:09 -- Marchand in penalty box after getting dumped big-time in neutral zone by Campbell. Bergeron takes Campbell slightly to task, then Marchand sent off for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Bruins again with issues getting puck out of their zone. Troublesome of late.

5:40 gone. No score. Three shots on Thomas. Three shots on Theodore.

Just had a 4-minute for change of glass behind Boston net. Back in action. No score.

1:28 gone. No score. Improvement already for B's.

Underway

Update: Bergeron is a go. Same for McQuaid.
Boston scratches: Zanon, Mottau, Whitfield.

Roughly 20 minutes to go here before the 7:30 puck drop between the Bruins and Panthers. No word yet whether Patrice Bergeron, stung by a Johnny Boychuk slapper Tuesday night in Tampa, will suit up tonight.

Bergeron skated just now in the pre-game warmup, but so did Trent Whitfield. If Bergeron feels he can't play, Whitfield will slot between Brad Marchand and Tyler Seguin.

Adam McQuaid, who sat out Tuesday due to an unspecified injury, also took the warmup here tonight.

Tim Thomas is back in net for the Bruins.
