THIRD PERIOD

1959: Bruins, 4-2. Marchand with ENG to close it.

Bruins take timeout with 29 seconds to go.

Solid kill by Bruins. 1:30 to go.

30 seconds to go on LA PP.

Caron off for errant high stick on Dougty. LA PP.

14:46 -- Bruins, 3-2. Voynov snaps in wrister from above right wing faceoff circle after Kopitar and Bergeron battle for faceoffr.

6:00 to go. Bruins being outshot, 39-23, but in control of two-goal lead.

5:56 -- Boston, 3-1. Pouliot shot angles in off Kelly's left skate. Goals stands up to video review. Rare two-goal breather for the Bruins.

4:37 -- Boston, 2-1. Lucic snaps in wrister from right wing faceoff dot. Soft goal by Quick, right through five hole. Possible slight screen by Scuderi.

LA's attack rejuvenated here in third period. Now with 28-19 shot lead. Thomas with a couple of key stops to keep it 1-1.

SECOND PERIOD

Deadlocked, 1-1, end of 40:00.

Huge save by Thomas, left pad on Voynov, with 1:15 left in period. Keeps it at 1-1.

17:58 -- Chara off for high-stick. Kings third PP of period.

13:17 -- Kings, 1-1. Fraser rips one by Thomas off the rush, Doughty with the key cross-slot pass. Strike comes seconds after Marchand misfires snipe at other end.

11:27 Brown lands first LA shot on net, ending 11-0 Boston run from late in first period.

Midway through period, Kings yet to land shot on net since first intermission.

5:18 -- Boston, 1-0. Bergeron pots shorthhander after Marchand takes puck from Doughty and lands backhander on Quick's doorstep. Bergeron trails in and pots 20th of season into open net.


Kings on attack, force Rolston into holding penalty. Another LA chance with PP.

Kings fail to land shot on man-advantage.

0:41 -- Seguin off for hooking. First LA PP.

FIRST PERIOD

First 20:00 in books. No score.

Bruins land five shots on net during PP, but can't beat Quick. Caron with best bid, but can't put away rebound of Rolston shot.

17:32 -- Williams off for roughing. Boston with first PP of night.

5:00 to go in first period. Bruins with five shots, all by defensemen, all from well above faceoff circles. Tough way to win.

Chris Kelly and Trevor Lewis throw down. Decent scrap. Advantage Kelly.

Nearing halfway point in period. No score. Kings, 7-3, on shots.

Kings with the better energy out of the gate. Own 4-2 shot lead in opening 4:23. Bruins forwards yet to land a shot.

Tim Thomas and Jonathan Quick, both of whom backed up Ryan Miller for Team USA at the 2010 Olympics, are tonight's tenders.

Joe Corvo is among the seven Boston backliners to skate in the pre-game warmup. He likely will be scratched for the fourth straight game, his minutes these days going to deadline pickup Greg Zanon.

Both clubs now on ice for pre-game warmup.

Less than an hour to go before puck drop here at the Staples Center.

Rich Peverley, sidelined the last five weeks with a wrenched knee, will participate in the pre-game skate but will not play. He remains a possibility to suit up for Sunday night's game in Anaheim, the wrapup to the three-game West Coast swing for the Bruins.
