On Monday, the Bruins signed Marty Turco to a one-year contract. Now, the Bruins must wait until noon on Wednesday to see if Turco clears waivers. GM Peter Chiarelli estimated there was a 50-50 chance Turco will be claimed.

Turco was signed to replace Tuukka Rask, who suffered a lower abdomen/groin injury. The Bruins project Rask to miss 4-6 weeks. However, Chiarelli said Rask will most likely be out for six weeks. That would mean Rask’s regular season is over, and he might not be available for the start of the playoffs. The regular-season finale is April 7.

If Turco clears, he will see game action to spell Tim Thomas. If Turco is claimed, Michael Hutchinson would remain in Boston until Anton Khudobin (wrist) is healthy. Khudobin is out for at least two weeks, said Chiarelli.
