Patrice Bergeron was injured and didn't play most of the third period. Bruins coach Claude Julian didn't have an update but Bergeron was involved in two tough collisions. The first one with Alexander Semin in the second period along the boards and then with Alex Ovechkin in the third period. Julien also had no update on Joe Corvo who appeared to be injured on Semin's goal midway through the second.

What they were saying:

Tim Thomas on if he feels like he could have saved one of the last two goals:

"I don't look at things like that exactly. The third goal I wish I could have controlled the rebound better, and then the last goal he fooled me and beat me clean. He's coming down with a lot of speed and he shot and I read that the shot was going lower. And by the time I realized that the shot was going that high, I didn't even have time to raise my hand.''

Dennis Seidenberg on his goal that finally got the Bruins going:

"I jumped by their forward and Looch made a great pass to the outside and all I was trying to do was get the puck on net and somehow it found the back of the net. But, we just started playing too late and woke up a little too late and at the end, it wasn't enough.'''

About the penalty on Benoit Pouilot that led to the game-winning goal:

Claude Julien: "I thought it was a very weak call and it ended up costing us a goal.''

Seidenberg: Every penalty that gets called that late in the game is tough. We should've killed if off, there's no execuses and at the end it wasn't enough.''

Pouilot: Tough call. I will leave it to you guys, but it was a tough call to make at 2:15 in the game. It is a grind out there. Some times you get the calls and some times you don't. It happened that they got it. It is like that all game. To call that at the end it is disappointing but there is nothing you can do about it. You just have to show up tomorrow.''
