Bruins defenseman Johnny Boychuk has been diagnosed with a mild left knee sprain. Boychuk is day-to-day, according to coach Claude Julien.

Boychuk was injured in the third period of Tuesday’s 5-3 loss to Pittsburgh. Boychuk collided with Arron Asham. Boychuk needed help from Chris Kelly and Brian Rolston to leave the ice, putting no weight on his left leg.

In all likelihood, Game 1 will take place next Thursday at TD Garden. There is no definitive word on whether Boychuk would be available for the start of the playoffs.

Today’s probable lineup:

Milan Lucic-David Krejci-Tyler Seguin
Brad Marchand-Chris Kelly-Rich Peverley
Benoit Pouliot-Brian Rolston-Jordan Caron
Daniel Paille-Gregory Campbell-Shawn Thornton

Andrew Ference-Dennis Seidenberg
Greg Zanon-Joe Corvo
Torey Krug-Mike Mottau

Anton Khudobin
Marty Turco
