The Bruins have signed former Toronto forward Christian Hanson to a one-year, two-way contract. Hanson will earn $600,000 in NHL salary. In Providence, Hanson will make $105,000.

Last season, the 26-year-old Hanson played for Hershey, Washington’s AHL affiliate. Hanson scored 10 goals and 11 assists in 52 games.

The 6-foot-4, 228-pound Hanson was an undrafted free agent. After a four-year career at Notre Dame, Hanson signed with Toronto on March 31, 2009. In 42 games with the Maple Leafs, Hanson scored three goals and six assists.

Hanson is better known for being the son of Dave Hanson of Slap Shot fame.
