The Bruins dropped a 7-5 match to Providence at TD Garden Tuesday night in their one and only scrimmage of training camp.

Tuukka Rask gave up six goals on 24 shots. Max Sauve scored two goals for Providence. Rask was the victim of several unlucky bounces. But he also saw some pucks go through that he should have turned back.

“I think it was sloppy throughout for all of us,” Rask said. “We’d rather take it now than Saturday, right?”

Anton Khudobin stopped 28 of 33 shots for the win. Khudobin didn’t look sharp either.

“A lot of goals scored that we would have liked to have back on both sides,” coach Claude Julien said. “We all know our goaltenders struggled tonight. That doesn’t make them any less good than what we think they’re going to be. We’re going to keep working with those guys. As much as we had some rusty guys up front, goaltenders are always the guys you look at, because that’s the last wall you have before it goes into the nets.”

* Boston’s best line was Chris Bourque, Chris Kelly, and Rich Peverley. Bourque scored a goal and had two assists.

* Adam McQuaid fought Bobby Robins in the third period. McQuaid didn’t appreciate a hit by Lane MacDermid and took several whacks at the left wing. Robins jumped in and tangled with McQuaid. Earlier, Robins drew the ire of Zdeno Chara near the net. Chara gave Robins a whack with his stick.

* Nathan Horton said he felt fine. It was Horton’s first game (albeit a scrimmage) since Jan. 22, 2012. Julien noted Horton’s speed.
