Bruins captains return to practice
Kelly drove to Boston last night by way of Ottawa, where he lives during the offseason.
“Being back at the Garden will be special,” Kelly said. “It’s a great place to play hockey. Driving in last night, seeing the Garden lit up and the bridge there, puts a smile on your face.”
Others participating in the session: Tuukka Rask, Andrew Ference, Dennis Seidenberg, Adam McQuaid, Tyler Seguin, Brad Marchand, Milan Lucic, Shawn Thornton, and Gregory Campbell. Of the regular Bruins, David Krejci, Nathan Horton, Rich Peverley, Daniel Paille, and Anton Khudobin have yet to skate post-lockout alongside their teammates.
The Bruins are scheduled to return to Ristuccia Arena on Thursday.
* Bergeron most recently played in the Spengler Cup. Bergeron and linemate Tyler Seguin helped lead Canada to a tournament win. “You never know until you play in your first game,” Bergeron said of being in game shape. “But I played over there. The tempo of the game and the speed of the game is very fast. I was lucky enough to play in the Spengler Cup as well. The competition was very high. I feel good. I’m just looking forward to getting started.”
* The NHL board of governors will meet in New York this afternoon. The board is expected to ratify the CBA.
