Final: Bruins win their fourth straight game, beating the Islanders 4-1 tonight at Nassau Coliseum. The Bruins ended the scoring with an empty-net goal by Gregory Campbell at 18:55 of the third.

1:00 3d period, 3-1 Bruins: Chara's penalty killed; Islanders 0-for-3 on PP.

End of 2d period, 3-1 Bruins: Dominant 20 minutes by the Bruins there. Had chances for more, even, but probably deserve to head to the locker room with at least a 2-goal lead.

18:35 2d period, 3-1 Bruins: Chara called for hooking Tavares. Islanders again a man up.

17:25 2d period, 3-1 Bruins: Vaunted Islanders' PP again stymied.

15:09 2d period, 3-1 Bruins: Bergeron called for interference, putting Islanders on PP.

13:40 2d period, 3-1 Bruins: As penalty was ending, Islander Andrew MacDonald goes high on Rask, rings the post.

11:40 2d period, 3-1 Bruins: Hamonic sent off for hooking, putting Bruins on another power play.

10:06 2d period, 3-1 Bruins: Bruins look good on PP, but can't convert. Hamilton with an even-strength chance that Nabokov turns away.

6:16 2d period, 3-1 Bruins: Bruins outshooting Islanders this period, 6-1. Pushing the pace, controlling possession.

5:16 2d period, 3-1 Bruins: Sweet goal by Krejci. Tic-tac-toe passing: Horton to Lucic, then Lucic to Krejci, who one-times it high past Nabokov.

4:46 2d period, 2-1 Bruins: My spies are noticing a trend: Islanders repeatedly trying to beat Rask high.

:38 2d period, 2-1 Bruins: Marchand scores after Ference throws a puck on net, comes to Marchand's stick in front. Real play was made by Bergeron, who outmuscled Visnovsky to the puck in the corner and flipped it back to Ference.

End of 1st period, 1-1: Bruins seemed to carry the play early, but sloppy play and careless mistakes (Seidenberg, Bergeron on the Islanders' goal) leave us tied.

19:14 1st period, 1-1: Martin asks if Chara wants to go. Big Z declines.

17:18 1st period, 1-1: Bruins get their first power-play chance after Bourque tripped by Martinek.

15:47 1st period, 1-1: Islanders tie it when Casey Cizikas takes centering pass from Josh Bailey, beats Bergeron to the puck, lifts it past Rask.

15:20 1st period, 1-0 Bruins: First power play of the game for the Islanders. Campbell sent off for tripping.

10:07 1st period, 1-0 Bruins: Rask on his game, stopping Michael Grabner on a breakaway, gloving a hard, high shot by John Tavares.

6:43 1st period, 1-0 Bruins: Adam McQuaid gets his first of the year, slipping a hard slapper under Nabokov's glove. Assisted by Seguin, his 100th career NHL point.

6:00 1st period, 0-0: Great shift by Peverley, Kelly, Bourque, Hamilton, Seidenberg there.

2:50 1st period, 0-0: Goalies up to the task so far, each stopping good, close chances.

1:20 1st period, 0-0: Big hit by Lucic on Andrew McDonald.

0:00 1st period, 0-0: As expected, Jay Pandolfo, Aaron Johnson, and Lane MacDermid are the Bruins' healthy scratches.

Pregame: We're minutes away from real, live ice hockey here at lovely Nassau Coliseum. Bruins trying to push their win streak to four games and finish 4-1 on this road trip. Islanders are playing their second game in what will be a season-high seven-game homestand. Playing at home hasn't meant much; the Islanders are 2-7 on Long Island this season.
