WILMINGTON -- Milan Lucic could only watch from afar as his Bruins teammates overcame a deficit to beat the Jets in Winnipeg on Sunday. Lucic, who flew with the team to Winnipeg, flew back to Boston not long after arriving, missing the game to attend to what the team said was a personal matter.

Lucic was back on the ice for Tuesday's practice at Ristuccia Arena, and echoed the team's announcement why he wasn't able to play Sunday, declining to offer details.

He did hint, however, that it was because of a family medical situation.

"Like Coach [Claude Julien] said and everyone said, it was personal reasons, and the good thing is everyone is home and healthy now, and that’s basically it," Lucic said. "It was a long last three couple days, flying to Winnipeg and flying all the way back as soon as I got out there. But like I said, everyone is happy and healthy, and that’s the main thing."

Lucic and his wife, Brittany, recently welcomed their first child. Daughter Valentina was born on Jan. 17.
