The Bruins have recalled Ryan Spooner from Providence on an emergency basis. This is the rookie center’s first NHL recall.

The transaction indicates that Brad Marchand might not be available for Wednesday’s game against Montreal. Marchand was injured in the second period of Saturday’s 1-0 win over Toronto when he crashed into the end boards. Marchand didn’t practice today.

In 35 games for Providence, Spooner has nine goals and 21 assists.
