Shawn Thornton out 7-10 days with concussion
WILMINGTON – Bruins enforcer Shawn Thornton has been diagnosed with a concussion. Thornton will be out 7-10 days, according to the Bruins.
Thornton suffered the head injury during a first-period fight with John Scott last night. Thornton was wobbly after the fight. Thornton served the five-minute major, but went to the dressing room from the penalty box. Thornton did notreturn.
The Bruins have recalled right wing Jamie Tardif from Providence on an emergency basis. Tardif is scheduled to practice with the Bruins this morning at Ristuccia Arena.
Tardif will most likely skate on the fourth line alongside Lane MacDermid and Gregory Campbell.
