Adam McQuaid out 3-4 weeks with strained left shoulder
Adam McQuaid has been diagnosed with a strained left shoulder and could miss 3-4 weeks. He is returning to Boston for evaluation.
McQuaid was injured in the first period of Tuesday night’s 3-1 loss to Winnipeg. Eric Tangradi checked McQuaid into the end boards, and McQuaid used his left arm to brace his fall.
McQuaid’s injury underscores the need to acquire defensive depth via the trade market prior to the April 3 deadline.
Aaron Johnson will replace McQuaid against Ottawa Thursday night.
