The Bruins have claimed Kaspars Daugavins on waivers from the Senators, according to the Ottawa Sun. The 24-year-old forward scored one goal and two assists in 19 games for the Senators while averaging 11:25 of ice time per appearance.

The 6-foot, 213-pound Daugavins opened eyes around the league against the Bruins on March 11. In the shootout against Tuukka Rask, Daugavins pushed the puck forward with the toe of his blade, then tried a spin-o-rama. Rask kicked out Daugavins’s bid with his left pad.

Daugavins scored his only goal of the season against the Bruins. The left-shot Daugavins snapped a long-distance shot past Anton Khudobin during the Bruins’ 2-1 win on March 21.

Daugavins was practicing with the Senators today. Daugavins will be a restricted free agent at the end of the season.
