OTTAWA – The Bruins have finished their practice at Carleton University. They are traveling to Toronto this afternoon. They will conclude their four-game road trip on Saturday against the Maple Leafs at Air Canada Centre.

Rich Peverley centered the third line. Peverley was a healthy scratch last night for the first time as a Bruin.

“Obviously you never want to be a healthy scratch,” Peverley said. “But it was a coach’s decision. I know I need to be a lot better. Hopefully from here on out, it will go a lot better and I can use it as motivation.”

* Zdeno Chara, Andrew Ference, Patrice Bergeron, and Brad Marchand were given the day off. They went through off-ice workouts.

* Johnny Boychuk left practice early. Boychuk appeared to take a shot off the right leg. Boychuk needed help hobbling to the dressing room. The defenseman did not return to practice.

* Ryan Spooner needed some work on his left cheek. A deflected puck caught Spooner in the face. Spooner didn't mind. "Makes me look tough," Spooner said.

Today’s practice lineup:

Milan Lucic-David Krejci-Nathan Horton
Lane MacDermid-Ryan Spooner-Tyler Seguin
Jay Pandolfo-Rich Peverley-Jordan Caron
Daniel Paille-Gregory Campbell-Shawn Thornton

Dennis Seidenberg-Dougie Hamilton
Aaron Johnson-Johnny Boychuk

Tuukka Rask
Anton Khudobin
