Johnny Boychuk injured, Matt Bartkowski recalled on emergency basis
TORONTO – Johnny Boychuk’s availability for tomorrow’s game against the Maple Leafs is in question. During practice today at Carleton University, Boychuk was hit by a puck in the right leg. The Bruins have not been able to determine the severity of Boychuk’s injury because of swelling.
The Bruins have recalled Matt Bartkowski from Providence on an emergency basis. The left-shot defenseman has three goals and 21 assists in 56 games. This is Bartkowski’s first recall of the season.
The Bruins are already without Adam McQuaid for up to a month because of a strained left shoulder.
