Chiarelli spoke with Bergeron on Wednesday.
“He was in very good spirits,” Chiarelli said. “He was out walking today. He was annoyed at it. He was emotional [Tuesday] night.”
Bergeron will not play Thursday night against New Jersey, and it is unknown how much time he will miss.
This is Bergeron’s fourth concussion as an NHLer. He suffered his last concussion on May 6, 2011.
* Rich Peverley will most likely replace Bergeron between Brad Marchand and Tyler Seguin against the Devils. Kaspars Daugavins is projected to be the third-line center. Both Daugavins and Jaromir Jagr are expected to play Thursday.
* New addition Wade Redden is not expected to play Thursday. The Bruins acquired the left-shot Redden for depth, trading a 2014 seventh-round pick to St. Louis. It will become a sixth-rounder if Redden appears in at least one playoff game.
