Seguin subs in for Patrice Bergeron, who is out indefinitely because of a concussion suffered on Tuesday against Ottawa.
“It’s going to be a little different for him,” said Claude Julien, referring to Seguin’s defensive responsibilities. “He’s not going to be on the wall. He’ll be low in support. He’s going to have to cover a little more territory. It’s something we all know Bergy does extremely well. He’s got some big shoes to fill. We don’t expect him to fill them. But we expect him to go out there and do a decent job like everybody else.”
Based on the morning skate, Seguin will also share power-play time with Jagr on the No. 1 unit. Zdeno Chara was at the point, Seguin (left) and Jagr (right) manned their respective half-walls, Nathan Horton was the slot shooter, and Brad Marchand was the net-front presence.
* Kaspars Daugavins will make his Bruins debut alongside Jay Pandolfo and Rich Peverley. Daugavins might not see penalty-killing time tonight, Julien said.
* Chris Kelly participated in his first morning skate since suffering his broken left tibia on March 11. Kelly will practice with the team tomorrow and travel with the club to Montreal for Saturday’s game. While Julien didn’t commit to Kelly’s return against the Canadiens, he made it sound like the third-line center will return within the week.
* David Krejci will assume some of Bergeron’s shorthanded minutes. Krejci was a regular penalty killer through 2008-09.
Tonight’s expected lineup:
