The Bruins just finished up with Media Day here at TD Garden, and there were a few newsy tidbits to come out of the season.

David Krejci, who suffered back spasms on Friday in Saskatoon, skated for the first time since the injury. He said he'll be a game-time decision, but that his back has improved. As he said, "Every single day I woke up, it felt much better. I'm expecting to get better again tomorrow and hopefully I'll be good to go."

Carl Soderberg, meanwhile, will not play on Thursday against the Lightning. The winger was placed on injured reserve after Friday's game, so he's not eligible to play. He would be eligible for Saturday's game, but there's no sense of whether he would be ready for that. “It felt really bad after the game. It’s felt much better every day,” Soderberg said. As for when he could return, “I have no idea,” he said. “It feels much better, so we will see. We can take a couple of days, but we have no idea.” Jordan Caron has skated with the third line in his place for the last couple of days.

The Bruins are still working on a new practice facility for the team, with the goal of eventually replacing Ristuccia Arena. The preferred destination now appears to be on the site of the old Boston Garden. There is no timeline, but Charlie Jacobs said that the team is working on the numbers with Boston Properties to build one. "My hope would be that we would have a premier, world-class training facility," Jacobs said. "Not to say that we don't have one at Ristuccia, but we think we can do better." There would also be retail and restaurants in the site. If that doesn't work, the team will continue discussions with others, but as Jacobs said, "This might be Option 1 in my book, at the moment."
