WILMINGTON – Adam McQuaid was the only player not to participate in today’s practice at Ristuccia Arena. McQuaid missed Monday’s 3-0 win over Tampa Bay. McQuaid was hurt in the first period of last Saturday’s game against Toronto while pivoting behind the net.
Claude Julien said McQuaid is day-to-day. Assuming McQuaid is unavailable tomorrow against Columbus, Matt Bartkowski will be in uniform for the second straight game. Torey Krug will play on the right side.
The Bruins will close out a five-game homestand against the Columbus Blue Jackets. The following night, they will play in Ottawa. Because of the back-to-back games and the travel involved, backup goalie Chad Johnson could see action on one of the two nights.
“If we can finish on a good note here, it will certainly send us on the road with some confidence,” Julien said. “We know there’s going to be some tough games coming up. Another back-to-back in Carolina and New York. We need to take advantage of what we thought was important for us. That home stretch was one of those things. If we can win tomorrow, nine out of 10 possible points is a pretty successful home stand.”
