Adam McQuaid was knocked out of tonight’s game against Toronto at 7:52 of the first period.

McQuaid appeared to suffer a groin or hip injury. McQuaid had pivoted behind the Boston net when he suffered the injury. McQuaid reached for the area, fell to the ice, and couldn’t get back on his skates. Daniel Paille and Shawn Thornton helped McQuaid off the ice. McQuaid did not put any weight on his right leg.

McQuaid played just two shifts for 0:44 of ice time. McQuaid fought Frazer McLaren on his first shift.

If McQuaid is unavailable for Monday’s game against Tampa Bay, Matt Bartkowski will return to the lineup.
