UNIONDALE, N.Y. – Welcome to the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, where the Bruins will take on the Islanders tonight.

The plan for the Bruins is to get off to a better start than they have of late. That will be helped by the fact that they aren't the ones coming off back-to-back games. That would be the Islanders, who played in Ottawa last night and landed back in New York at 1 a.m.

Johnny Boychuk didn't make the trip to New York, which means that Matt Bartkowski will be back in the lineup. He hasn't played since Oct. 17 when the Bruins took on the Panthers and Boychuk was injured.

Game time: 7 p.m.

TV/Radio: NESN/98.5 The Sports Hub

Records: Bruins 8-4-0, Islanders 5-5-3

Projected lineups:

Milan Lucic-David Krejci-Jarome Iginla
Reilly Smith-Patrice Bergeron-Brad Marchand
Chris Kelly-Ryan Spooner-Carl Soderberg
Daniel Paille-Gregory Campbell-Shawn Thornton

Zdeno Chara-Dougie Hamilton
Matt Bartkowski-Dennis Seidenberg
Torey Krug-Adam McQuaid

Chad Johnson
Tuukka Rask

Notes: Tonight's game marks the first time the Bruins will see the Islanders with new acquisition Thomas Vanek. The Islanders acquired Vanek from Buffalo for Matt Moulson and draft picks on Oct. 26. ... New York played in Ottawa last night. Only a few players skated this morning at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. ... The Bruins have a three-game winning streak on Long Island, though the Islanders beat the B's the last time the teams met. ... All but two of the Islanders' 13 games this season have been decided by one goal.
