Florida Panthers goaltender Tim Thomas will travel to Boston for Thursday night's game vs. the Bruins but will not face his former team, Panthers coach Kevin Dineen told the Florida Sun Sentinel Wednesday.

"We'll be bringing Tim on the road trip but right now, he's still on injured reserve," said Dineen.

Thomas injured his right leg in an Oct. 22 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks and has not played since. He practiced Wednesday, but was apparently not ready to play in a game.

The trip to Boston will be Thomas's first since leaving the Bruins in 2012. Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli said on the Sports Hub's "Toucher and Rich" show Wednesday that the Bruins were planning a video tribute to Thomas, who led the Bruins to the Stanley Cup title in 2011.
