TORONTO – The Bruins are down another defenseman.

Dougie Hamilton left Sunday's game in the first period and did not return. Coach Claude Julien said Hamilton will fly back to Boston while the team goes on to Calgary. He will be reevaluated in Boston, but Julien said he expects that Hamilton will be out for at least a week with a lower body injury.

Meanwhile, Kevan Miller also left the game late in the third period with an injury after a hit by Dion Phaneuf that did not draw a penalty. Julien termed his injury "very minor," and said he expected Miller to be fine for Tuesday's game against the Flames.

The Bruins will wait until Monday to determine whether they need to call up another defenseman from Providence. That will likely be based on the availability of Johnny Boychuk, who suffered a back injury after being boarded by Max Pacioretty on Thursday. Julien said he was more optimistic than pessimistic about Boychuk's chances to play on Tuesday.
