The Bruins are off for four days before they travel to Montreal for Thursday's Atlantic Division showdown. The team took Sunday fully off.
So far the Bruins have had an easy schedule, at least in terms of home vs. road games. They've played 17 of their first 27 games at home. But that changes in December, with the team playing just five games at home in the month and eight on the road, including a swing through western Canada.
"Obviously you feel a lot more comfortable at home with your fans behind you, but it's probably a welcome thing right now," coach Claude Julien said. "I think it's going to be good for us to get together on the road and spend a little more time as a team and face some of those challenges and the travel that comes with it.
"I think it's a great opportunity for us to do this right now. We've had a pretty successful homestand and now it's time to try and carry that over to the road."
The Bruins will practice twice more at Ristuccia Arena before flying to Montreal on Wednesday.
