Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid will not play in today's game against the Kings because of a leg injury. McQuaid missed all of yesterday’s third period against Chicago because of the injury. The length of his absence is unknown.

Zach Trotman will replace McQuaid for today's game at TD Garden.

After today, the Bruins don’t play again until Saturday in Philadelphia. Given the layoff, it’s possible that Dougie Hamilton (concussion) could return by then. Hamilton has resumed skating and could practice with the team this week. Hamilton will miss his fourth straight game today.
