The Bruins made a dream come true last week for fan Maria Splaine, a 16-year-old student at Presentation of Mary Academy in Methuen and a patient at the Jimmy Fund Clinic at Dana Farber.

Through the Make-A-Wish program, Splaine traveled with the team for its game in Buffalo for a behind-the-scenes look at a road trip. She flew on the team plane, had dinner with Torey Krug and Shawn Thornton, and met other team personnel before attending the game vs. the Sabres.

She provided all the details in her own words in a "Make-A-Wish Diary" posted on the team website, which tells the story far better than we can, so we'll just point you in the right direction rather than try.
