Claude Julien: Bruins Will Have to Be Just as Desperate as Canadiens Tonight

MONTREAL ó Bruins coach Claude Julien knows that his team will be going up against a desperate Montreal Canadiens club.

The Bruins lead the Canadiens 3-2 in their second round Stanley Cup playoffs series. After two straight wins, including a 4-2 drubbing in Montreal Saturday, the Canadiens' season is on the brink tonight in Game 6 at Bell Centre.

This Bruins are certainly experienced in closeout games. But that takes a certain mindset, almost parallel to that of the team whose season is on the brink, according to Julien.

"Thereís one team thatís desperate tonight. And rightfully so," Julien said. "Thereís a team on the other side that has to be just as desperate, because you donít want a Game 7.

"So thatís my approach. You gotta play, and you gotta play your best game. I keep saying it. Gotta play your best game of the series to close out any series because youíre going to get the best of the other team."

For the Bruins, that continues to mean they have to stay out of the penalty box, a key determining factor in each game of the series.

"From our side of it, again, I think itís important that we are physical," Julien said. "But itís also important that we stay out of the box. Weíve seen where the goals have come from. Their power play has been good in this series. So I think itís important that we still play within our identity, which is being big, strong, physical, but at the same time you gotta play between the whistles and try and stay out of the box."
