The Bruins are 4-0-0 against Carolina this season and have outscored the Hurricanes, 18-6. In a Dec. 20 game against the two teams, Patrice Bergeron suffered his second concussion in two seasons and was placed on the Injured Reserve list. A week later the teams met again, and Boston took its seventh straight victory on the heels of rookie Blake Wheeler's two goals. In a Jan. 10 game, the Hurricanes pulled goal Cam Ward after Boston took a 3-0 lead, but backup goalie Michael Leighton let two goals score to give the Bruins a 5-1 win.
