Feb. 5, 2012: Patriots lose another Super Bowl matchup with Giants
The New York Giants beat the New England Patriots 21-17 in Super Bowl XLVI, the second time the Giants beat the Patriots in the last four years in the NFL's title game. Patriots fans were feeling confident after QB Tom Brady (left) completed a 12-yard scoring pass to Aaron Hernandez to open the second half and the Patriots pulled ahead, 17-9. But the Giants, trailing by 2 points with 3 minutes 46 seconds remaining, began a winning drive that was highlighted by an Eli Manning pass down the left sideline to Mario Manningham, who kept his feet inbounds by inches. Giants RB Ahmad Bradshaw scored the go-ahead touchdown with 0:57 left.
