The big man
Standing a fearsome 6 feet 9 inches, captain Zdeno Chara owns the league's hardest shot and doles out some the most punishing hits in the game. Known for his unwavering commitment to off-ice training, Chara's role on the ice is to keep the Bruins' end of the rink free from trouble. Thanks in large part to "Z", the Bruins have allowed the third-fewest goals in the NHL, mostly because opposing forwards, like Montreal's Tom Kostopoulos, are loath to tangle with him.
