Between the pipes
Unorthodox in both style and career path, 34-year-old Tim Thomas doesn't employ the typical butterfly style used by most goalies, and bounced around the minors and had stops in Sweden and Finland before earning a spot with the Bruins. But the Flint, Mich. native has made himself into one of the league's best puckstoppers, leading the NHL in goals against average (1.78) and save percentage (.944) while posting a 7-2-3 record. The B's can also turn to Manny Fernandez, who has a 5-1-1 record, 2.55 GAA and .910 save percentage in seven starts.
