    At the London Marathon and across the world of sports, there have been countless displays of support and sympathy for the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing on April 15.

    At the London Marathon and across the world of sports, there have been countless displays of support and sympathy for the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing on April 15.

    At a moving pregame ceremony in the first game at Fenway Park following the bombing and subsequent manhunt for the suspects, David Ortiz delivered a powerful message. "This is our (expletive) city. Stay strong."

    After defeating the Florida Panthers on Sunday, the Boston Bruins gave their game jerseys to members of the law enforcement agencies that aided in the investigation and manhunt for the bombing suspects. Law enforcement officers have been given a hero's welcome anywhere they've gone since capturing the second suspect on Friday.

    As the national anthem played prior to the start of a playoff series against the Knicks, Celtics center Kevin Garnett wore a shirt with one of the popular slogans that emerged as the city sought unity in the aftermath of the tragedy.

    The Red Sox wore special versions of their home whites for their first two games against the Royals this weekend. The traditional "Red Sox" was replaced by "Boston."

    You did not need to be entered in a major marathon to show support for Boston. Here' a group of runners in New York's Central Park included one wearing a Red Sox cap prior to a fun run.

    At the Red Sox' game Saturday, the first pitches were thrown out by Matt Paterson, who aided the injured during the Boston Marathon bombings, Steven Byrne, who was injured during the bombings, and Dick Hoyt and his son Richard Hoyt, who compete in the race every year.

    At the Hamburg Marathon in Germany, there were many displays of support. According to the Globe's Derrick Jackson, who ran in it: "They held a moment of silence, played Sweet Caroline before the start and many people wore Run For Boston bracelets."

    The Yankees and Red Sox are bitter rivals, but the teams put aside their differences in the wake of Monday’s deadly Boston Marathon bombings. Fans entering Yankee Stadium Tuesday saw this tribute to the Red Sox.

    In maybe the most poignant tribute, the Yankees played “Sweet Caroline”, an iconic Neil Diamond song played each game at Fenway Park, after the third inning.
