Former Bruin Andrew Ference is volunteering at the Boston Marathon finish line Monday, the Boston Globe reports.
Ference, a popular player during his time in Boston, was in attendance as the Bruins defeated the Detroit Red Wings, 4-1 Sunday. Ference’s new team, the Edmonton Oilers, failed to qualify for the NHL playoffs, which got underway last week. On helping with the marathon’s recycling efforts, he told the Globe:
"It's great, I miss the city obviously. It's like home to me and my family. Coming down, we got the Bruins, Sox, and the marathon in a couple days span so it's been great."
