Christopher McDougall, the author of the popular book "Born to Run," led a group of runners on a jaunt around the Charles River -- many went without traditional footwear -- two days before the Boston Marathon.

"The whole idea of this naked tour is to get people back to the basics of what running is all about," McDougall said.
