The Marching Doughboy Theo Alice Ruggles Kitson sculpted the statue that honors the 115 Hopkinton residents who fought in World War I. Ruggles Kitson was born in Brookline in 1876. Her life-size work of Thaddeus Kosciuszko stands today in Boston’s Public Garden.
